"I had an incredible meal at Cafe Burma in Midtown Sacramento! I ordered the samosa soup, tea leaf salad, firecracker tofu, and coconut rice — and every single dish was amazing. The flavors were rich, balanced, and authentic — honestly, it tasted almost exactly like Burma Superstar in San Francisco, which is saying a lot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the location is perfect — easy to get to, with plenty of charm. My server, Brian (the guy with the ears!), was fantastic — super friendly, attentive, and easy to talk to. He really made the experience even better. Overall, I was so impressed with the food, service, and vibe. I’ll definitely be back — this is easily one of my new favorite spots in Midtown!"

"Chef Burma has been on our hit list for some time now. Finally made it in for dinner and we were not disappointed. Situated on the corner of 16th and K Streets, there is lots of parking nearby and on the street. The decor is clean and contemporary. Nothing fancy but clean and welcoming. We were greeted by Rachel, who indicated she would also be our server for the night. Very friendly and efficient throughout the dinner. She let us peruse the menu and then offered some suggestions based on what we told her we like which helped with how much we ordered. Everything we ordered was a menu price plus $1 for the protein (seafood is more). We had the Lettuce Wraps with chicken, Eggplant with garlic sauce, Basil chili beef, and the Burmese style Pad Thai with chicken. We also asked for a side of chili oil just in case we needed it... Lettuce wraps came out first which gave us time to enjoy them before the other two dishes came out. Everything was excellent in flavor and quality. Even though we requested our spice level to be 'hot', we are glad we had the chili oil as well. We like our food 'very spicy' when available. We now have Chef Burma on our "list to return" for another meal... or more."

"Never had Burmese food before. Everything was super flavorful. Our group decided to eat family style which was a great idea because everyone ordered something different. We had plenty to eat and we got to tase a little of every dish ordered. Definitely have to come back. Sorry about the pictures. I forgot to take the pictures sooner."

"My friend and I visited this restaurant during our trip to Sacramento. We were so glad that we found it. The food was absolutely delicious, they have plenty of vegan choices and lots of food for customers who eat anything and everything. :) I highly recommend the pumpkin dishes with coconut rice. It's absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is nice, staff members are very friendly, welcoming and kind. The restaurant is very clean. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Parking is available on the street- use the park mobile app to pay- or at the parking garage. across the street."

"Went for dinner without reservations...which was a mistake. The maitre de got us in after like a 30 minute wait. The place was packed at 8 pm. The food was excellent. Some of the best curry I've had in Sacramento. We had a mixup where one of our tablemates had their order not placed, but our server made it right and got it out as quickly as possible. Still seems like there's some growing pains happening, but I look forward to returning!"

"Friendly welcome on the sidewalk patio where we could sit near our bikes and enjoy the nice weather. Makala delivered spot on service; she kept our glasses filled with cold cucumber and lemon infused water and confidently answered our questions about items on the menu. We enjoyed the popular Tea Leaf Salad and the sweet savory Tofu Mango along with a side of coconut rice that was super tasty. We plan to come back soon and save room for the enticing desserts they have."

"This was my first experience with Burmese cuisine, and it was delightful! The fermented tea salad is simple, but delicious. I wasn't sure how I felt about the floral aromatics in the salad, but I found myself wanting to go back for more. I'm salivating again just thinking about it. I also tried the Vegetable Curry: not like any curry I've had before, but a super comforting, flavorful stew that I could eat every day. It has a tomato base and is full of perfectly cooked, filling, veggies: eggplant, okra, broccoli, green beans, tomato, potato, carrot, jalapeño, thin strips of super firm tofu. I only wish there was more okra, or an okra heavy version. The samusas are crispy & potato filled, fried tofu is a generous serving - also flavorful. They both come with a tangy sweet & sour-esque sauce that has a nice spicy kick. I'll have leftovers for a while, I was full after eating less than half the curry stew and half of my salad. This may be one of my new default comfort food spots, which can be hard to find for vegans."

"Had the tea leaf salad, Mohinga, passionfruit mocktail, and the dessert listed first with matcha and mango ice cream (still don't know how to spell it). Tea leaf salad was the typical fare but the ingredients felt particularly fresh. Mohinga was also good though not particularly special. The mocktail and desert were delicious though and would definitely recommend (particularly with the matcha ice cream for the latter). 5 stars because the service was great. They allowed our dog for outdoors seating and brought him water, and were very attentive and got our orders quickly (and both ice creams when we couldn't decide!)."
